  • BENEDICTE MUNDELE KUVUNA - 21, student at the Food Innovation Program.

«I come from the Democratic Republic of Congo. I’m here to learn about how we can build a better, more innovative future through working on food and nutrition. Back in Congo I already have an enterprise which processes food, in particular we produce fruit juices and mostly potato and banana based snacks. Everything I’ll learn here will go into my business back home. My aim is to promote our local products, fruits, from the pineapple to mangos, papaya, passion fruits and maracuja. We sell our products in our country but the idea is to export them to many tropical countries. I want to promote a food production system, from farmer to consumer, through the processing of local organic products. Here in Reggio Emilia people are aware and proud of the riches of their land. In Congo this is not the case but I would like it to be in the future. Seeing how things work in the Reggio area has been very informative. It is a model I wish to aspire to».
