Carlo Zucchi (b.1777- d.1863) begins his military career as sub lieutenant of a battalion of volunteers from Reggio in the Italian Campaign of 1796. He takes part in all the Napoleonic wars, until obtaining in 1809, the grade of Brigade General and the position of General Inspector of all the infantry of the Kingdom. For his credits Napoleon confers him the title of Baron of the Empire. Later on he is a protagonist in the military fights for Italian Independence.
